All MEGALED units are equipped with a uniquely designed control units, specifically designed to guaranteed maximum performances and reliability, by keeping under control both the current and the temperature. Each MEGALED unit is individually controlled by a dedicated Power Control Unit.

Although the theoretical working life of the LEDs is in the range of 50,000 hours, in real life condition the actual life is extremely dependent on the working conditions, particularly of the operating temperature.

In fact, just like any other electronic circuit, LEDs are extremely sensitive to the temperature: a temperature above the optimal range both decreases the light power and shorten the operating life of the device. To prevent such conditions, MegaLED's power control units use a double power control circuits: one at constant current, the other at constant temperature.

1. In normal conditions, the constant current circuits provides the constant current required by the LED.
   

2. In case the temperature of the LED rises above the safety range, the second control circuit takes over, limiting the power supply in order to keep the temperature under control.
   

This exclusive and innovative double control system ensures optimal performances and reliability even under extreme conditions, and guarantees an actual operating life of tens of thousands of hours.
